The European Year of Intercultural Dialogue 2008 aims at disseminating the message of sharing the European values, mutual respect between nations and dialogue between the different cultures. Every member country participates in the program with a national project. All of the 27 projects are presented on the website of the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue 2008, where also a Bulgarian part is currently being developed.
The project of Bulgaria is called HOUSE as a symbol of integration, traditions and national values. The Bulgarian house is one of the symbols of the integration – it has got not only specific architecture, but also its own characteristic arrangement, its cultural organization, which are the contribution of Bulgaria to the European tradition.
The preservation of distinctions in the cultural traditions of the different nations is one of the foundations of United Europe’s philosophy – the countries are joining the Union with their distinctions. The unity is in the preservation of the distinctions for the future generations through mutual respect and tolerance.
